Infant and Toddler

The Infant and Toddler Program serves infants from six weeks to two years old and toddlers from two to three years old. The program provides a year-round program with a full-time schedule. Infants are encouraged to explore their world with trusted adults to support their learning adventures. Our programs provide "hands-on," developmentally appropriate experiences based on current early childhood education, research, and practice where children can learn through play, grow at their own pace and feel valued and secure.

  • Infant 6 weeks to 2 years old
  • Toddler 2 years to entry into preschool

Located on 9 elementary school campuses, our preschools, many of which are open year-round, emphasize kindergarten readiness skills as well as social, emotional, physical and creative development in an active participatory learning environment. The maximum group size in our preschool classrooms is 24, with classrooms having a teacher to child ratio of either 1 to 8 or 1 to 12.

The Extended Day programs offer full time and part time, before school only, before and after school, after school only, and summer programs. Summer Camps

Kidventure Camp

Kidventure Camps are week-long journeys of fun and engaging hands-on experiences that enhance the 21st-century learning skills of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. All camps will be skillfully led by our highly trained and experienced teaching professionals.

A day in the life of a camper can include hands-on learning through art and science, water and sensory play, large group games, sports, board games, dramatic play, sewing, technology, and cooking. Children can be seen reading a favorite book, hanging out with friends, working in teams, supporting and learning from peers.

Camp SPARK specialty camps are week-long sessions focusing on specialized topics and offering multiple learning experiences.

Culinary Camp: Simmer, Stew, & Bake it Too!

Our “Simmer, Stew & Bake it Too” chefs will learn and explore new cooking techniques, safe food handling, and etiquette as well as prepare a full menu of recipes from scratch. All the while, students will learn to make sure their workstations are kept organized and properly sanitized.

Coding Camp: Tech Titans

At Tech Titans Camp, students will unleash their creativity and learn to problem-solve with engaging fun coding projects that introduce students to how software and hardware work together. Students will learn about loops, conditional statements, variables, debugging, and other core coding concepts.

Science Camp: FCE Laboratory

When budding scientists join FCE Laboratory, they will develop their own hypotheses, predictions, and conclusions as they work on multiple science experiments each day. Scientists will explore chemical reactions, density, and engineering.

Crafts Camp: The Art of Fun

The Art of Fun will pique aspiring artists' curiosity and creativity as they learn new and exciting crafting techniques such as paper quilling, painted vinyl, and wood signs, canvas projects, and more.

Farm to Table Camp

At the Santa Clara Unified School District Farm, young farmers will have the opportunity to learn where their food comes from and enjoy farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs! Farm to Table Camp will teach students the science of farming as well as hands-on experience with food and cooking.

FCE-SCUSD is proud to provide the 10th Annual Farm to Table Camp in collaboration with Stanford University.
